Shown below is the two-block leg of Market Street that travels west from Monument Circle to Capitol Avenue. The State Capitol building at the top of the image is built symmetrically on the axis of Market Street. Other buildings along West Market Street include offices and a hotel; ground floor retail is also present.

VIEW EAST – THE CITY MARKET

The three-block leg of Market Street that travels east from Monument Circle to the City Market and City County Building between Delaware and Alabama streets is shown here. Other buildings along east Market Street include a mixture of offices and hotel. ground floor retail is also present, but it diminishes the further that buildings are located from the Circle.

VIEW NORTH – NORTH MERIDIAN STREET

The northern, one-block leg of Meridian Street from Monument Circle to The Federal Courthouse on Ohio Street is shown here. Just north on Meridian, The Indiana War Memorials Commission serves its mission with the veterans’ Memorial Plaza, Indiana War Memorial and Museum and a collection of memorials located throughout the beautiful, green grounds. large bus shelters are located on both sides of Ohio Street near Meridian Street, as this is the major transfer point for the Indygo bus system. At this block the area begins to transition primarily toward office, residential and commercial uses to the north.

VIEW SOUTH – CIRCLE CENTRE MALL

The one-block leg of Meridian Street that travels south from Monument Circle to the Circle Centre Mall on Washington Street is shown here. This is an entry point into the highly active Wholesale district and multiple restaurants on Washington Street. Four blocks south from the Circle, and outside the edge of this image, is union Station, a railway depot. This leg will also provide an entry point to the Central Corridor of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
